Experience Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Vol Edge program, launching in January 2025, will roll out in phases through Fall 2026 to offer career-ready experiences to all undergraduates. The Vol Edge empowers students to maximize their educational experience by connecting them with vital campus resources and hands-on opportunities. Through mentorship, workshops, and collaboration with key campus partners, students can confidently navigate their paths to success.
A Simple Three-Phased Approach
Your Career Toolkit
Start your journey with self-paced, online learning interactions covering essential career readiness topics like career competencies, networking, personal branding, and crafting effective resumes and elevator pitches. These learning interactions provide a strong foundation for building your career toolkit.
Engage Through Experience
Take the next step by completing an experiential learning opportunity such as an internship, study abroad, or undergraduate research. You’ll also participate in pre-departure workshops to prepare for your experience and post-experience workshops to reflect and integrate what you’ve learned.
Telling Your Story
In this final phase, learn how to effectively share your experiences with employers or graduate programs. Whether it’s through resumes, interviews, or personal statements, you’ll be equipped to tell your unique story with confidence and clarity.
